Education and Health The areas of Education and Health are among those that present the greatest challenges to the public sector’s drive to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
Each area requires to capture and to maintain considerable volumes of sensitive data about a very large customer base. The information requires to be accessed and manipulated in a coordinated manner by a wide variety of interested parties at UK, regional and local level, and so managed information flow, controlled access, and standardised data-sharing schemes are essential.
Increasingly, personal data needs to be made available in a readily-accessible form directly to customers. At the same time, safety, security and integrity of the data are of prime concern. As a result, privacy controls and privileged access mechanisms are major topics, and these are areas where we have demonstrable expertise.
We have an extensive track record in the Education arena, including our work on the recently-introduced Educational Maintenance Allowance scheme, our development of a large-scale child-centric personal care records website, and our projects for ScotXed and Her Majesty’s Inspectorate for Education.
Perhaps even more extensive is our track record and experience in the Health sector, where we are framework partners for the National Health Service in Scotland, and have built considerable knowledge and capability in areas as diverse as GP administration systems, practice management, prescription management, and drug treatment control. |
